I did validate this Strict at the w3c site, which doesn't seem to catch missing xml:lang. I've added that now.

Ah, that last part... FONT... yes, of course. I validated this on my hard drive rather than the site. I have no control over that -- it's the disclaimer that's tacked onto all my pages by my administrator. I've complained. We'll see what happens. I've asked them to reconfigure this in XHTML strict, which I suspect they will. My guess it will "fix itself" soon.
