The setting is 'ribbonBorder' not 'ribbonEdge'

ribbons;
set ribbonBorder on;

Works fine.

I did not receive any responses to my question whether it should be 'edge'
or 'border'.

I believe that the word 'border' is more specific in this case ... every
ribbon has an 'edge', but 'border' has more of a connotation of
'decorative boundary'.
