Egon, Nico, and I are busy testing Jmol, and we hope some of you are, too.
As the release of 10.1 draws nearer, we may have some slight changes for
which we need your feedback as soon as possible. Here is one:
1) We propose to add
hbonds calculate
as an EXACT replacement for the Version 10.00 "hbonds on".
2) We propose to NOT officially release
connect auto
or
connect hbonds auto
until we think a bit more about terminology. In fact, those command
options will be there -- you will be free to experiment them -- but they
will remain undocumented until we have a consensus on how exactly to
implement them.
In connection with that, what I said earlier about
connect hbonds auto (*) (*)
being a replacement for Version 10.00 "hbonds on" was incorrect.
Instead, with this proposal,
hbonds calculate
IS an exact behavioral replacement for Version 10.00 "hbonds on" because
it only displays hydrogen bonds created within the current selection set.
We expect this to be in the next prerelease, later today.
