Wow. That was a quick vote - I just got out of bed on Sunday over here :-)
I prefer light blue for deuterium, but agree that I can define my own
colours. I guess we neutron crystallographers see deuterium (or even
hydrogen) more often than you X-ray folks, and somehow blue seems more
appropriate. After all, most deuterium is on water, and water is blue :-)
We have a big tank full of heavy water and believe me, it is a beautiful
blue under cerenkov radiation :-)
