I took now the following example:
http://www.fli-leibniz.de/cgi-bin/3d_mapping.pl?CODE=1deh&JMOLVERSION=10.9.86

If you apply the following 'moveto' command (after 'set picking center')

moveto 1.0 { 877 -373 -303 121.4} 4450.9 {-0.95000005 15.947
-66.563995}  57.6;

and then click at the 'Zn' aton (already in the center), it is zoomed
in. If you repeat clicking twice a small portion of the 'Zn' atom
fills now the whole applet. This behaviour doesn't seem to be
appropriate in my opinion.

If you reapply the 'moveto' command from above and then repeatedly
click outside the structure, it is zoomed out until finally a script
error occurs:

script ERROR: ScriptException:decimal number out of range (5 - 200.000)
     Script line:zoomTo out

After I tested some more this seem to be the only real cases of zoom
change. I thought there were additonal ones, but now I think it just
looked like changes at first sight. The impression is presumably just
caused by the high zoom factor applied already and the relatively
large distance and size difference of the atoms I looked at. You can
see what I mean if you reapply the 'moveto' command and then click
alternatively at the purple 'I4' atom and the 'Zn' atom.

Regards,
Rolf
