Dear Bob, Frieda and I tried "show state", then pasting the resulting script back into the console (in a different Jmol applet session after a "zap").
WOW. CONGRATULATIONS BOB! WE WERE BLOWN AWAY WITH HOW WELL THIS IS WORKING!!! In two very different, complicated views, we were able to regenerate the view almost perfectly using the "show state" script. The following minor bugs occurred (10.9.98): 1. "set slab false" was present in the "show state" report, produced an error that stopped script execution, and was probably meant to be "slab false". 2. When "backbone" rendering was present, no backbone commands were generated in the "show state" report, and no backbones were displayed when that script was run. 3. Label offsets are not working for negative X and Y values. (Pretty picky, eh?) An amazing range of complicated things did work perfectly, though! By the way, unrelated to re-running a "shown state", another bug in 10.9.98: "set isSpinning" was generated in the messagecallback as an ERROR message during startup of FirstGlance in Jmol: "Script ERROR: unrecognized SET option: set isSpinning" (despite no "set isspinning" having been sent to Jmol.) I saw this because I alert any message with "error" in it. Running a script that generated this ERROR in messagecallback, with "set debugscript 5", we could find no evidence of this command or error in the console output. -Eric ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
