A comment and maybe a proposal:

"frame" = "model" and "anim(ation)" are commands with a complex
growing history and overlapping functionalities. They have been quite
expanded since Jmol 10.2
On revieweing the numerous available options, I find that there are
many "frame" options that indeed affect the frame or model being
shown, and the "anim" options affect the animation course. However,
to me
"frame play, frame playRev, frame pause, frame resume"
belong in the second group, not in the first. It would be more
intuitive to have them moved (or at least duplicated) into
"anim play, anim playRev, anim pause, anim resume"

I see that some of them are already functional, although undocumented
("anim play" with no frame number, "anim playRev" with no frame
number, "anim pause", "anim resume" all seem to work, at least in
latest version)

Apart from that, "frame playRev (starting frame)" seems to be broken
in 11.1.29: it does no animation and does not change to that frame.
