I have finally resolved my problem with the 'memory effect' when
using 'configuration'. The magic words were "wireframe off"! Putting
these at the start of each script does the trick. So the final code
for the radio buttons was of the type:
jmolRadio("echo; wireframe off; restrict (80,81,82,83) AND protein
AND NOT (*.H,*.H?,*.H??, *.H???, *.?H, *.?H?, *.?H??, *.?H???);
centre selected; wireframe 0.3; zoom 5000; select [CU], [ZN];
spacefill; configuration 1; display selected;", "", "");
I have replaced the example at
<http://doolittle.ibls.gla.ac.uk/leader/jmoltest/> with one using
this type of code, for anyone who has been following this.
Thanks Bob for all your help. I need to generate this sort of thing
on the fly, so a global 'configuration 1' is all I can use. (The
other configurations were removed from the database anyway, I now
realize.)

PS Angel said that zooming automatically until the selected molecules
fill the screen is not possible. How difficult would it be to do?
