You may have a point, but to me, jmol.org is easy to grasp by anyone,
easier to write without typos and to remember, so I quite prefer that
to SF url. Plus we have www.jmol.org, wiki.jmol.org,
firstglance.jmol.org
that by one means or another should be maintained in the future and
redirect to wherever is the real stuff.
I guess Miguel can comment on this, as I understand he is responsible
of the domain registration and DNS business in between redirections.
Anyway, I see no problem if you prefer to use jmol.sourceforge.net
for the citation, as it is very clear.

This is a good point. I think I can take care of this.

I had also thought of that, but didn't want to change existing
things.
OK, if no more suggestions come, I will set "Jmol: An open-source
Java viewer for three-dimensional molecular structures" as the
webpage title.

Despite the current lack of descriptive title, Google doesn't do
badly:
"jmol" ==> first hit
"molecular viewer" ==> second hit
"molecular viewer java" ==> 17th hit (due to existing "Java
Molecular Viewer")
"open source molecular viewer" ==> 2nd hit, after OpenRasMol
"free molecular viewer" ==> 7th hit
