There does appear to be a problem at the sourceforge site right now,
I am also seeing only the red X and errors in the Java console. I'll
leave that to the web people.
As for your pages, Douglas, the problem is due to the Java security
when working on a local hard drive instead of a server. Instructions
for how to set up your files on a local site are in the wiki:

HTH.

The examples here: http://jmol.sourceforge.net/scripting/ do not
appear to be working (the applets display just the 'red x'). Also,
when I try to use the example code on my pages, they only work if I
do not put the jmol files into a subfolder (i.e. folder named
'jmol' below root). Ideas? Thanks.
