Thanks to all who replied especially Rolf and Eric. This is a
situation where your IT department is your friend.
I spoke to CSD in Liverpool and were able to set the forward and
reverse lookups for the server IP address so that ChemTube3D is back
for non-Mac Firefox users ;-)

In case this helps, here is how the Windows Firefox security barrier
problem was solved for Proteopedia.Org.
Originally, this nslookup command (e.g. in Windows Command Prompt or
OS X Terminal)
nslookup 132.77.150.58
reported only name = ispcsrv.weizmann.ac.il
Since this did not agree with proteopedia.org, the security barrier
in Firefox blocked Jmol from reading files (e.g. .spt files) from
the server.
The IT staff at Weizmann reconfigured this server so that now the
above nslookup command returns name = proteopedia.org
That solved our problem.
