I am getting a hard Firefox crash (the browser locks up) in WinXP.
My page has 2 jmol applets. They are both declared within the html (using
separate <script>jmolApplet(...)</script> chunks)
In the Java Console, I see this error (full error text at the bottom of this
email):
java.lang.RuntimeException: Error while creating embedded frame at
sun.plugin.viewer.WNetscapePluginObject.createFrame(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin.viewer.WNetscapePluginObject.setWindow(Unknown Source)
It seems that if this error hits, jmol still tries to perform operations on
the applet, and perhaps it is just not there? That's pure speculation
though.
Oh, and of course the crash is very finicky. If I've successfully loaded
jmol on another page visit, or load my applets at different points in the
page, the crash does not occur. Currently, I can reproduce the crash every
time by going to (

click 'Go') immediately after starting Firefox, whereas my neighbor can load
the page just fine. In fact, if I simply take out some extraneous <div>s
from my page, the error goes away (in this simplified version of the page...
that's not a usable "fix") Aaaaaaargh!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
