More specifically,the manual says "The size of the halo, originally 20% of
the van der Waals radius of the atom, can be set by selecting specific
atoms and using the halos command". The problem is that the halo is
apparently not set to 20% on selecting atoms displayed as ellipsoids. You
can reset it to 20% after the atoms are selected, but I don't want to have
to do that. I would like to be able to set the default halo size before
any selection, or at least have it set at 20% so that the halo shows up
immediately on selection, and I can't see how that can be done. Sorry for
the multiple posts.
