This gentleman wants a simple tool that would enable K12 students to "draw" 3D geometric forms, and rotate them. If anyone can help, please contact him!

I was afraid of that; a simple tool to help visualize math objects is way difficult.  I run a science non-profit in Pueblo, CO USA and am trying to find simple ways to help basic science students (and me) draw the results of simple formulas. I also have to do a presentation for a paper and want to direct them to a simple VRML page showing the design.

I have searched everywhere for a simple 3D program that would allow me to input dimensions, create a block or something like that, and rotate and spin it. Molvis is way advanced and takes a long time to fully understand, even for advanced students, and the students we try and reach (math, science, physics, radio clubs, etc) just don't have the time.

If you can think of something simple, please let me know.  More about what I do is on the web page ( http://sciencecenter.no-ip.org) and I'd appreciate your comments or suggestions. Tools are not simple to acquire!

Thanks,

Dave

Dear Dave,

What program do you direct? Please tell me your institution or school, city, state, and country.

There are no easy tools at http://molviz.org to draw squares and triangles.

Do you want them to rotate? It is possible to do this using Jmol scripts, but somewhat technical.

Most likely you will do better with some other tools that I don't know about -- try searching with google.

Good luck, -Eric

Thank you so very much for any help your time permits,
