I discovered that Spartan files could be used by Jmol just AFTER upgrading to Spartan '08; I no longer have the HASP for Spartan '07.
Bob Hanson was kind enough to provide me with a test file, which works; but a Spartan file generated with '08 (structure: methanol; method: HF/3-21G) gives an "unrecognized file format" error.
