The next development release of Jmol will have the capability to read
file-based orientations. Some programs (CAChe, Sygress, Spartan) save
default orientation information in their files. Up until now Jmol has
ignored this. But 11.7.30 will allow the option to automatically select this
orientation as the "reset" orientation when files are loaded or to restore
that orientation whether or not the file was intially loaded with that in
mind. In this way files can be loaded with the precise orientation that the
model was saved with from the originating program.
Q: What other programs or file formats have this sort of information besides
Spartan, CAChe, and Sygress?

If nature does not answer first what we want,
it is better to take what answer we get.
