I note with interest that whilst the iPad can receive (by email or iTunes) Acrobat files for viewing, attempts to view a PDF file with a u3d object (converted from Jmol; thanks Bob!) contained therein seem to induce problems. Thus the iPad email app has no problem receiving a normal PDF by email, but if a U3D PDF is sent, it breaks the app. Similarly, if iPad PDF viewers such as Goodreader or Stanza are used, they fail completely to show anything. It seems U3D is far from being mainstream, and far from being supported beyond Adobe. -- +44 (020) 7594 5774 (Voice); Blog: http://www.ch.ic.ac.uk/rzepa/blog/ Dept.
