I regularly work in Firefox, as far back as version 1.something. Never seen any 
failure like 
that.
If you see the page in other browsers, it must be some tricky detail. 
In fact, I would not have being surprised if you reported such a difference to 
make IE fail, not 
the others. They usually behave similarly.
One idea: some browsers destroy the applet when its size is somehow set to 
zero, others 
keep it. For example, how are you setting the size of your applet? Have you any 
fancy css in 
there?
