For those Mac users inclined to try the Oracle Java JRE 1.7, expect odd
reporting of versions….
Jmol.jar reports Java 1.6.0_33 Apple but running applets report 1.7
Terminal java -version also reports 1.6.
Apparently you have to install the Java SDK to get everything to report 1.7
