I found the following on the Apple discussion boards related to the Java
shutdown.
/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/XProtect.meta.p
list
there is a "JavaWebComponentVersionMinimum" thats responsible for that behavior.
After running a
sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Delete :JavaWebComponentVersionMinimum"
/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/XProtect.meta.
plist
This appears to kill the kill and reactivate Java.
