Now I'm trying the latest build of JSmol locally it works beautifully - much
improved resolution. I managed to push it to 1500 square but 2000 square was
too much - half the image was black. Out of memory?

All the best

implements a new feature

WRITE PNGJ 800 800 "?.png"

for example, to specify the image size.

Interestingly, this image-writing feature does not depend upon Jmol having
a visible canvas at all. I just realized that, if we wanted to, we could
implement a "headless" Jmol in HTML5 that has no canvas.
