Jmol for Beginners
This workshop will focus on the use of Jmol (http://jmol.sourceforge.net)
for the inclusion of active content on web pages that illustrate molecular
structure in a dynamic way. No previous experience with Jmol is required,
but some experience with HTML and web page creation will be useful.
Discussion will include web sites already available for class use that can
be used as is or as starting points. Participants will learn how to
implement Jmol on web sites both in Java and in pure HTML5 and how to use
the Jmol application to set up views and animations. Participants should
bring their own laptop computer, if possible. Presented by the principal
developer of Jmol.
Ultimate Jmol
In this workshop for experienced users of Jmol, we will focus on more
advanced aspects of Jmol and JavaScript scripting, including what's new for
Jmol 14.0, the issue of Java vs. HTML5, and cross-browser compatibility.
Participants should bring examples of pages using Jmol or at least be
prepared to go behind the scenes with ones provided in order to work on
some of the less salient aspects of using Jmol on the web. Presented by the
principal developer of Jmol.
