Dear Bob, In Jmol 14.0.4, attempting to make backbone or wireframe translucent makes it invisible. This was not true in Jmol 13.
load =1al1 backbone only backbone 0.5 color backbone translucent 1 All levels of translucency are invisible, including -1. For atoms (spacefill) and cartoon, translucency works as in previous versions. However for wireframe, translucency makes it it invisible.
