*translate selected *will do exactly what you want. Translate by itself
does something slightly different, I guess.
translate selected @{ {5 5 5} - @3.xyz}
will move atom number 3 to {5 5 5}
translate selected @{ {5 5 5} - {ala33} }
will move the model such that geometric center of alanine 33 will be at {5
5 5}
