Jmol Users, Jmol was upgraded from versions 11.6 and 12.2.22 to 14.0.13 on CentOS (Java 1.6.0_24) and Windows (Java 1.7.0_51) machines.
After upgrading, the File->Open dialogue box (aka file pane, file chooser, file browser) fails to appear when selected from the menu. Installing older versions of Jmol revealed that this change occurred between 13.0.18 and 13.2.0. It was discovered that if the "file preview" option is unchecked (i.e. openFilePreview=false in .jmol\properties), then the Open dialogue will not appear. If the "file preview" option is selected, then the dialogue will appear. I tried some searches for this problem and nothing came up, which seems a little odd, as it has existed since version 13.2.
