It's possibly related to having pressed the platform speed 8 link at some point 
prior to the problem. It's hard to tell. It's a random event.

One other observation:

It seems to occur shortly after an unexpected load of some sort. I'm playing 
with model rotation, and suddenly the load alert flashes on. Shortly after that 
a mouse movement makes the model disappear. I'm seeing it on iPad also. Again, 
it's random, so it's hard to test.
