Dear Jeff, Congratulations! That sounds terrific.
Do you mind if we add that information in the Jmol Wiki? --or you could add it yourself ;-) Jmol users are in demand of manuals to get started (that's the reson why my book, despite being 7 years old and somewhat obsolete for the new Jmol versions, still keeps selling). I will try to take a look at your book. Would Freeman be interested in offering a translation in Spanish? > I have been working with Freeman in the hope that this will bring this > material to a wider audience than would have been the case by simply > publishing it on the web. Wider than on the web? I doubt it. > The manual was previously available as an > online resource for the Lehninger and Stryer biochemistry texts, but only > to those classes that subscribed to the online Portal or its successor, > Launchpad. Unfortunately those online resources were not widely used. I think the problem may be (1) price, or restriction to be attached to another material (the textbook) (2) lack of knowledge the material is there. I have some similar experience. Some peole buy a textbook and do not care to check the supplementary online materials. I am blaming the publishers in a good part, I belive they do not know how to publicize those resources and give them value. > Now Freeman has made access to the manual available for purchase > separately. That's a very good idea indeed. > Information about how to do this can be obtained by going to > the WHFreeman web site, selecting "Introduction to Biochemistry" from the > Disciplines pulldown menu, scrolling down to "Studying Protein and Nucleic > Acid Structure with Jmol" and clicking on "Learn More" or on the + sign. Quite obscure path. That's what I meant about publicity. Please let me know about the Wiki. I could do it today. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Meet PCI DSS 3.0 Compliance Requirements with EventLog Analyzer Achieve PCI DSS 3.0 Compliant Status with Out-of-the-box PCI DSS Reports Are you Audit-Ready for PCI DSS 3.0 Compliance?
