Rolf, there is no reason it would use Java if it is not declared in the Info 
variable.

Check that you are indeed defining Info.use = 'html5' and it is not being 
overwritten somewhere else

The url parameter will probably force the modality, as Paul indicated, but 
still 
you must find the source of your problem.
Are you using Jmol2.js adapter by any chance?

In fact, the "priority" usually does not work, it just picks the first, since 
Java 
detection is not reliable. It was a nice design idea, but not practical in the
