Dear Bob, Yesterday Eric Martz and I got together and for fun, converted to JSmol two old Jmols, an animation and a tutorial… originally authored by me in 2006!!
Most of the work involved calling two new js files, commenting out a call to the old file, figuring out how to update the paths in a few different places (given the construction of my directories) and co-opting your “Info” block into the header of each index page. We only found 2 Jmol commands that broke in the many Jmol scripts involved. One was a color command that used an upper case “X” inside the brackets instead of lower case, and the other was a "set spinfps…" command that read “spin fps…”. Each of these may have been broken commands, but not stoppers until now. It was easy to find the errors in JSmol and update the commands. Congratulations on making Jmol and JSmol so backward-compatible that numerous scripts from 10 years ago are still robust. And thank you for your tireless work on J and JSmol! All the best, Frieda ////////////////////////////////////// Frieda Reichsman, PhD Molecules in Motion Interactive Molecular Structures http://www.moleculesinmotion.com USA //////////////////////////////////////
