A test NIST search in the Virtual Model
Kit<http://chemagic.org/molecules/mini.html>is hooked to InChI.js as follows:
1) When the model kit page loads, the NIST Direct button uses Resolver to write
a link (yellow text) to the NIST page for the model in the window.
2) If the more (...) button is clicked, the resulting menu has an InChI App
button. Clicking this button launches the InChI.js app page in a separate tab
(window).
3) As long as the InChI.js app page is open, the NIST Direct button will use it
as the InChI resolver rather than NCI Resolver. Although it's not needed, I
print the InChI to the InChI.js app page for test purposes.
4) If the InChI.js app page is closed, the NIST Direct button returns to NCI
Resolver.
I have only tested this on Safari. Tests on other platforms/browsers would be
apprciated. The two pages communicate via browser loacal storage.
Finally, by either route above, I'm using non-stereo InChI's. With non-stereo
InChI, NIST loads a page with likks to all pages of that atom connectivity. If
you send a stereo InChI for a specific isomer that NIST does not have, you do
not get other option links.
