Job Description &Required Skills:
Senior Level DataStage Developer for a long term contract in the Jersey
City, New Jersey area. The qualified candidate must have extensive experience
with production support and performance tuning with DataStage up through
version 8. This role requires excellent analytical skills in addition to 6
years of experience implementing DataStage and Unix Shell Scripts. Candidate
must have knowledge of Oracle 10 with tuning and partitioning.
Technical skills and abilities:
. Experienced developing and implementing ETL solutions. Six years
minimum of IBM Datastage experience , V-8 parallel job experience preferred /
Seven years minimum of overall IT experience)
. Knowledge and experience working with Relational Databases such as
Oracle, MS SQL, UDB.
. Extensive knowledge in SQL programming / Stored Procedures(Oracle
PL/SQL) V-9I or greater.
. Must have extensive technical skills in Unix and shell scripting
environment.
. Strong analytic, problem solving, and collaborative skills
. Strong data modeling skills (Normalized and Multidimensional for Data
Marts, including Star Schema, Snow-Flake Modeling, Fact and Dimensional
Modeling
. Hands on experience with -- Javascript/HTML/ DHTML/XML are a plus
. Participates in on-call, overnight off-hour production problem
resolution activities when required.
. Working knowledge of General Ledger and Sub Ledger terms, and processes
a plus
. Working knowledge of life insurance business terms, and processes a
plus
. Good written and verbal communication skills a must
. Bachelors Degree or equivalent job experience
