SQL Server DBA Woodland Hills, CA 6 month+ contract Client may move to Irvine in early 2009 SQL DBA 6 month contract (ideally contract-to-hire) Responsibilities " Performs day to day SQL Server administration, backups, capacity planning, and maintenance. " Performs second-level support for the IT Applications and Help Desk teams. " Assist in the logical and physical design of SQL Server Databases. " Perform database tuning activities. " Develop new features, custom applications, and reporting solutions using program " development and database technologies based on end-user requirements " Work both independently and collaboratively on projects and complete tasks on time " 24 * 7 support for existing MS-SQL Servers . " Support databases in a production environment. " Work both independently and collaboratively on projects and complete tasks on time " Excellent attention to detail. Skills " 3+ years of experience with programming and administration using MS SQL " Server 7/ 2000. " 2+ years of experience with, Transact-SQL, stored procedure development " Experience with Application change control, deployment & rollback processes " Experience in applications support and/or customer service. " Replication Knowledge a plus. " Strong knowledge of relational database methodology and logical database architecture " Knowledge of database and web security best practices a plus " Experience working with Multi Database (ie Sybase/Oracle/DB2, MySql) a plus Education .
