BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
Responsible for assembling and facilitating the review and approval of technical designs and systems diagrams;
providing information and guidance to the business representatives to ensure the approved requirements will achieve business objectives;
translating functional designs into written technical designs and specifications;
reviewing and approving technical specifications cross functionally, ensuring they align with the business requirements, and technical requirements; providing assistance to the IT manager in understanding the requirements and resolving any project conflicts.
Accountable for writing, publishing, getting approval and maintaining detailed functional specifications, as well as reviewing and approving appropriate technical designs.
Must be able to plan and perform testing, including documenting test conditions, expected results, and test validation.
Professionalism and strong communication skills are essential.
Must be comfortable working under the pressure of delivering quality results with schedule deadlines and must have a proven track record in meeting schedule for tasks while still meeting or exceeding business requirements and goals.
Must be able to work independently as well as with others on work tasks and must demonstrate initiative and ability to self-manage time and work with minimal direction.
REQUIRED TOOLS/APPLICATIONS:
Experience with J2EE development is mandatory
Experience with DB2 is mandatory
Experience with scripting languages such as Ant, UnixShell is mandatory
Experience documenting integrated systems is mandatory
Working within a structured Systems Development Life Cycle Methodology is required
PREFERRED TOOLS/APPLICATIONS:
Advanced SQL Server skills (ETL, DTS, SSIS, and T-SQL) is desired
Mainframe IMS and DB2 data access is a plus
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assume lead role on work assignments and delegate tasks to the development team.
Actively work with customers and IT to gather and document functional and system requirements
Perform analysis and design on small to medium application projects / enhancement request
Write detailed technical specifications for developers to follow
Perform system analysis
Facilitate IT work estimates
Document use cases and closely interact with developers and QA
Facilitate test planning, execution and user testing
Provide guidance and training to peers and to developers at lower levels
Facilitate meetings and document outcome
Perform technical training when necessary
Develop and perform formal presentations when required
Understand IT processes and work within designated guidelines
Participate in the development and continuous improvement of BSA standards
Provide customer service in an advisory role
Assist with user training as needed
Troubleshoot application problems and propose optimal resolutions
Responsible for optimization of system applications
Provide on-call support as required (may require evening and weekend work).
