*Location: NYC, NY* *Duration: 12+Months* * * *Description:* Looking for a Senior UNIX administrator who will work with the UNIX team for installation and management of UNIX servers and Storage subsystems. Team oriented, good verbal and communication skills as well as ability to work under pressure are critical success factors. *Responsibilities* • Automated installation of Solaris OS and patch management on regular interval. • Troubleshooting of Solaris OS and application problems. • Providing support to Application and Database teams. • Ability to determine infrastructure requirement and make architectural recommendations. • Ability to function in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. • System and application analysis and reporting. • Share in team on-call responsibilities, carrying a pager in weekly cycle. Experience • 7+ years experience in a SUN Solaris environment with 100+ servers. • Experience in architecting infrastructure for highly available, multi-tier web-based database systems. • Experience with high-end sun servers and consolidation of servers. • Must have theoretical and hands-on understanding of UNIX and applications running on UNIX. • Ability to identify and troubleshoot potential problems in complex UNIX environment. • Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly to solve technical problems. • Must understand the I/O drivers within the kernel stack; and find I/O performance bottlenecks. • Specific software and hardware skills: -Extensive Solaris 10 experiences, preferably with OS zones -Extensive experience with Veritas Netbackup. -Experience with EMC and SUN SAN environments -Experience with LDAP -Performance monitoring and tuning. -Familiarity and experience administering systems running: Oracle 10, RAC, IBM Websphere Veritas VM, Solstice SDS, Veritas VCS • Knowledge of scripting languages and regular expressions -Shell (bash, ksh, perl etc) • Excellent written and communication skills. *REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:* • Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 7+ years of systems experience as demonstrated thorough mastery of the job in a senior level. *DESIRED SKILLS:* • Familiarity with Linux. -- Nayeem Amin Decca Consulting Ph: 832 561 0634 [EMAIL PROTECTED] yim: amin_gci --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "jobinusa" group.
