We have an opening for....... Position: Oracle DBA Location: NJ Duration: 3 Months immediate need of an Oracle DBA consultant! This client has historically extended contracts! The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, QA Testing and provisioning support for Systems Architecture initiatives including our client's Product Lifecycle Management project, Supply Chain Management project, Retail Allocations Project and Global Knowledge Computer Based Training project. Other initiatives include Project and Portfolio Management; Oracle Database Build and Support; support multiple application teams; Strategy and Standards for Oracle database systems; Strategy and Standards for MSSQL database systems. Key respsonsibilities include installation, configuration and support Oracle Database systems and tools; MS SQL Server database management skills; performance tuning of the database instance and SQL code; documentation of design changes to environment; perform logical and physical backup and recovery; support multiple application teams; update standard build and QA forms; update project plan and status reports daily; system build out and QA of databases; implement, test and document backup, refresh and disaster recovery procedures for the system and application; provide support through helpdesk ticketing system; create and maintain Shell/PERL/VBscript scripts to automate system administration tasks; work with Openview Engineer to establish monitoring and performance reporting; work with internal and external groups to establish and address root-cause analysis of issues and provide 3rd Level Support. Required Skills: 5+ years of Oracle database administration experience; 3+ year of HP-UX environment, Microsoft SQL Server and UNIX shell scripting experience. Must have strong experience with Oracle database management 9i, 10g on UNIX and Windows; performance tuning; backup and recovery; UNIX shell scripting; proficiency with automation of system deployment/provisioning. Must also be strong with time management, ability to learn as well as work independently and documentation skills. Good communication skills and the ability to work well on a team. Have experience providing timely updates of project plans and status reports. Bachelor Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience as well as Oracle database certification.
