Currently Prosoft Cyberworld is looking for talented resources for one of their listed clients. Below are further details on the positions *LOCATIONl IN* *DURATION:4+MONTHS* *RATE:DOE* *FileMaker Upgrade* *State of the current Tracker database* Our data files were recently moved from an old server maintained and physically housed in the Marketing Dept to a server within the IT data center. This has been a big benefit in that it now resides on a much more robust and stable server, and all maintenance and data backups are now per formed by IT, rather than by the Mac server in Marketing. It also improved the ability to use virtual access for consultants to make changes to the database. The system speed has increased noticeably. However, the software itself is still outdated. Our system (Tracker) was developed in FileMaker version *5.0* and FileMaker is currently on version 9.0. Although the core functionality of Tracker still serves the department well in workflow and cost management, it is in need of many changes to more efficiently serve the current needs of the department. Much of the old functionality of Tracker is no longer used as needs have changed since the system was developed over 10 years ago. *Changes and upgrades needed* >From a visual standpoint, Tracker needs to be more user-friendly. Users need to be able to flow from screen to screen with less keystrokes and scrolling than is currently required. A new design needs to be created eliminating unused data fields and regrouping data into single frame layouts with top tabs. A "pre-Tracker" interface that would allow clients from outside of the department to submit job requests electronically needs to be created. Clients would fill out a required online form that would then be reviewed by a project rep and then uploaded into Tracker. This would eliminate the current process which requires the client to fill out a form in MSWord. Most of this data is then re-keyed by a project rep into Tracker. Tracker currently is designed to handle print jobs and the data fields are not compatible with newer job types such as websites, emails and other non-print, electronic jobs. New data fields need to be created to accommodate these type of jobs. Layouts need to be created that would be different depending on what job type was selected when the job is created. New reports need to be created that analyze workflow and cost information with more efficient exporting capabilities that are available in the 9.0 version of Filemaker. Also, the ability to email data from Tracker would be available in the 9.0 version. This would be used for reporting as well as sending information to vendors. We would like to explore the possibility of displaying grouped jobs in a calendar format for project management and also the ability to use Tracker to send reminders of flagged dates. *Specific Immediate Changes (should happen with or without major redesign)* ** *PIF* Clean up Project Name list Clean up Approval Required defaults Clean up Copy Approvals To defaults Divide into single-frame screens ** *Job Ticket* Get Production Schedule in single-frame screen Develop new list of noted schedule dates that reflect current workflow, eliminate unnecessary ate tracking fields.
