Name: TEST ENGINEER with Wireless LAN (802.1x, WPA/TKIP, WPA2/AES/802.11i)
Location: United States - San Jose, California
Duration: 6-12 months
Description:
This position will perform testing of Wireless LAN (WLAN) switching products
employing advanced security.
Responsibilities will include following:
. Create test plan from PRD, develop test cases from test requirements, and
execute test cases.
. Set up customer configurations and test at System and Solution level.
. Identify, reproduce, characterize and log bugs. Verify fixes for bugs and
plan/execute additional tests needed for fix verification.
. Perform performance, interoperability, and scaling tests. Analyze failures
and defects, and recommend corrective actions.
. Participate in design reviews and identify testability requirements.
Desired Experience and Skills:
. 5+ years of testing in data communication industry (LAN, WAN, WLAN), and
2+ years WLAN test experience.
. Must have experience of Functional / Feature Testing as well as System
Testing.
. Strong knowledge of WLAN, L2/L3 (Ethernet, TCP/IP), SNMP, HTTP,
Linux/UNIX/Windows operating systems.
. Knowledge of WLAN advanced/security protocols (WEP, 802.1x, WPA/TKIP,
WPA2/AES/802.11i, WME/WMM/802.11e, IPSec VPN, Firewalls.
. Demonstrated experience of using network monitoring and analysis tools to
debug Ethernet/Wireless/IP layer problems.
. Automation experience (scripting Perl/Tcl), is a plus.
Education: BS EE/CS required
Position Requirements:
Experience Level - 4 - 6 Years Use current documentation of test process and
formalize as released procedures in document control system. Shadow test
team and document process flows and test procedures (that are currently not
documented). Work with business team to ensure traceability process is
adequate. Work with NPI team on test planning documentation. Support to the
Field Engineering Team in testing of new hardware, software applications and
accessories of new and upgraded products as they are released. Raise of all
issues found during testing and to work with the Development and Integration
Teams to track those issues until resolution. Capable to read and understand
technical specifications. Good english knowledge and PC skills.
