Sr. HP LoadRunner Coder/Tester -financial/ecom Location: Omaha, NE Duration:
6 Months 38/hr CTC   Sr. Performance Engineer



The qualified candidate will assist in the client's Performance Engineering
Group and will provide onshore HP LoadRunner support for a team of
distributed systems performance engineers. This is a senior position and
requires an in-depth understanding of LoadRunner (LR) technology and how it
fits into the performance engineering process.   The consultant will be
expected to work onsite in Omaha, NE.  Might you have an interest in this

*Functions:*


• Review use cases, performance requirements, and application technology to
assess the feasibility of using LR to simulate multi-user loads
• Design performance tests, given a predefined performance requirement or
objective
• Code LR scripts and scenarios based upon this design
• Acquire data in support of LR parameterization
• Execute and interpret results, and author final results documents that
include concise executive summaries
• During testing, monitor and identify shortfalls of CPU, memory, disk IO,
or network
• Review the work of more junior LR testers to ensure the integrity of their
work
• Work with HP technical support to resolve usage problems or product
defects



*Required Skills:*



• Five years or more experience in application load testing
• Two or more years recent full time experience in LR load testing
• At least 2 years experience with LR Web, Web services, and database
protocols

• Thorough understanding how to manipulate virtual users and think times to
achieve target throughputs
• Understanding of how to ramp virtual users to avoid lock step transactions
• Experience working with Mercury support to resolve or circumvent LR
defects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
• Basic understanding of how to generate charts in Excel, and how to
generate documents in Word

• The wider the range of LR protocol experience, the better

• Any experience in statistics
• Any experience in application programming, systems administration,
database administration, or network administration
• Experience in functional QA testing is NOT necessarily considered a plus



*Required Education:*

• Mercury LR training or certifications
• Degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering

This is a contract position to at least March 6, 2009—with anticipated
extensions
