Position: QA Lead Location: Delaware DE Duration: 3+ Months Rate:25-30 Description The ISQA/Testing Team is looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance Lead to guide an experienced QA team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and self-directed, and thrive in a fast-paced and high-visibility work environment. The QA Lead has the following experience and responsibilities: Has deep knowledge of multiple complex applications and provides subject matter expertise to set direction and create test strategies and test plans for one or more releases of an application. Participates in cross-functional discussions to review the impact of application changes from both internal and external interfaces on the quality of their applications. Ensures comprehensive test coverage exists by understanding the test scope and approach of dependent QA groups. Works with application development teams to participate in solution design to ensure testability of functions and applications. Mentors QA testers and helps raise the bar for the technical and business value the QA team offers Identifies areas for improving efficiency, shortening of test cycles, and automation of test scripts Facilitates execution of automated test scripts. Has significant interaction with internal customers Performs root cause analysis to identify and implement test scope and test approach improvements. Writes, reviews, and executes test scripts when necessary to complement QA analysts' work. Collaborates best practices, techniques, and ISQA annual goals with other QA groups. Qualifications The QA Lead has the following skills and qualifications: 7+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology 5+ years development/testing experience in a large multi-platform environments with working knowledge of associated technologies. 3+ years of managerial/supervisory experience in matrixed organization 5+ years QA process development and re-engineering. 3+ years of project management experience SQA Analysis- Ability to read and comprehend business requirements and high level design deliverables well enough to create detailed test cases. Ability to map test cases to business requirements. Detailed understanding of development lifecycle and quality assurance phases; Basic understanding of application architecture in order to identify quality issues related to design or distribution of application components Applications Development or IS Quality Assurance testing experience required Experience creating and implementing test environments for a client-server or distributed system involving relational databases Mercury Quality Center and other similar tools - Basic understanding including navigation between functional areas within the tool. Ability to input or load and execute test cases and document actual results within the tool. Ability to pull data from testing tools for reporting. Automated test script execution and maintenance. Experience with Winrunner/QTP and knowledge of VB and Excel VBA. Can write and execute advanced SQL statements Experience creating detailed test cases/scripts for technical and/or business clients High proficiency with UNIX and Oracle Can provide MIS and interpret results as related to a software project's "health" and its risks.
