Let me know do you have any consultant for the given position Title: *Strong Oracle DBA Consultant* Work Address: Springfield, IL *(LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY)* Duration: 1 year (extension to another 1 year likely) *Project Description*: Support the department's Oracle environment, databases and applications. *OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES* 1. Daily primary database administration support for Oracle databases; 2. Perform database tuning of migrated applications in Oracle 10g; 3. New hardware migration; 4. IDPH Oracle software upgrade from 9i to 10g; 5. EPA Oracle software upgrades from version 7, 8, and 9i to 10g. 6. Implementation of an IDPH and EPA redundant servers to provide 24x7 rollover databases to ensure users routine access in the event of a problem with the main servers and to run user ad hoc queries and reports; 7. Establishing and documenting an application code control system for all Oracle applications; 8. Establishing and documenting Oracle standards; 9. Standardizing Oracle implementation across platforms; 10. Documentation of database administration (DBA) duties/functions specific to Oracle systems. 11. Knowledge transfer, mentoring and training of State of Illinois staff. *Skills Requested* *Required/Mandatory Skills: * · Minimum of 5 years recent experience in the administration and use of Oracle Database, Oracle Middleware, and Oracle Applications · Minimum of 2 years recent experience administering and supporting an infrastructure with multiple and unique applications of Oracle software and configurations · Minimum of 5 years recent experience in the administration and use and support of Oracle versions 7, 8i, 9i and 10g. · Minimum of 5 years recent experience using and supporting the following operating systems: 1. IBM / AIX operating systems 2. SUN / Solaris operating system · Minimum of 5 years recent experience using the following monitoring tools: 1. NMON 2. Topas command TOP · extensive background and knowledge of Oracle Database Tuning techniques including but not limited to analysis of system memory, system disk usage, operating system performance parameters and hardware configuration. · recent and extensive experience in the migration of Oracle software from version to version, and platform to platform · recent experience training and mentoring staff in the following topics, specifically in a highly customized infrastructure consisting of a variety of unique configurations and systems: 1. Oracle software 2. AIX and SUN Operating Systems 3. Oracle Systems Monitoring · Technical support for Oracle development staff (resolution of technical issues and optimizing source code) · Oracle best practices If during the first 2 weeks of the contract, if any of the consultants demonstrate that they cannot perform the work identified in the IFB the Agency will consider their work performance unacceptable and not pay the Vendor for the time that consultant worked during the 2 week period.
