Dear Partners:- Please find the requirements currently open. *Senior SQL Server DBA 6 month Contract Chicago, IL needs to be local Desired Start Date: ASAP 45/hr At least 5 years of SQL Server experience in a large corporate environment. Position Summary The Administrator, Database Sr will serve on the DBA team, supporting SQL Server databases providing senior level expertise to the team. This position will provide database design, support, and back-up recovery activities. Position Responsibilities 1. Manages physical database design, creation and maintenance. 2. Performs performance tuning, capacity planning, and back-up/recovery activities. 3. Leads the research, planning and implementation of new database installations, upgrades and patches for various systems. 4. Controls system capacity for existing requirements and plans for future needs. 5. Facilitates root cause analysis on database issues. 6. Maintains technical documentation relating to database management. 7. Responsible for 7x24 production support on a rotation basis. 8. Has basic project management experience. Is able to manage a technical project with the involvement of other technical resources. 9. Demonstrates a commitment to core values of safety, integrity, process improvement, and customer satisfaction. Position Requirements 1. Bachelor*s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related engineering discipline or equivalent experience required. 2. Work experience: a. Should have a total of at least 7 years of work experience. b. At least 5 years of SQL Server experience in a large corporate environment. c. At least 2 years HANDS-ON experience in SQL Server 2005 3. Microsoft SQL Server clustering experience 4. SQL Server Replication experience 5. VLDB > 1 TB experience 6. Performance tuning and Query optimization experience 7. OLTP experience with high transaction rates 8. Extensive TSQL scripting experience with good knowledge of DTS and SSIS 9. Working knowledge of Windows OS configuration and management as to how it relates to Microsoft SQL Server 10. Advanced knowledge of database concepts, performance tuning, proactive monitoring and problem solving 11. Experience with database management, monitoring and tuning tools. 12. Good oral and written communication skills to interact with both, internal and external customers 13.
