* * *Job Title: **SAP Basis Administrator*** *Location : **Chicago, IL*** *Duration : 6 Months* * * * * *Job Description* * * * Job Title: * * High Level Job Description: Responsible for the technical performance characteristics of an SAP environment, including network, * *database, and application server performance. SAP Basis Administrators commonly perform activities similar to those of Systems Administrators, * *Network Administrators, Database Administrators, and Configuration Managers (in the context of the SAP environment). * *Job Responsibilities: Monitor and maintain SAP systems environments for optimum performance and be proactive in identifying potential problems * *(environments include Sandbox, Development, QA and Production). Perform core Basis functions (e.g., corrections, support packs, kernels, transports). * *Assist in creating and modifying strategies, resolve problems and document issues and resolutions. * *Develop and implement action plans for small projects, with timelines and tasks, must have an in depth knowledge and experience in core * *SAP Basis Administration functions. 3+ years experience as a Basis Administrator. Experience with R/3 4.6C or greater. * *Experience with FI/CO, HR, BW, SEM preferred Knowledge of ITS and Enterprise Portals a plus. Knowledge of IBM's UDB RDBMS and RS6000 AIX platform. * *Knowledge of system copies, upgrades, installations a plus. Understanding of SAP**�**s interaction with networks and databases. * *Strong customer focus and management of client expectations. Strong oral and written communications skills. * *Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills. Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of management. * *Excellent teamwork skills. Demonstrated experie nce working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high-pressure * *situations and complex environments. 6 - 8 years of experience. * *Job Description: * *The Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, technical administration, tuning, and monitoring of the SAP Solution Manager application and * *supporting the functional teams. Since PepsiCo has all SAP Components, we expect that this person have significant experience in at least 1 other SAP component * *other than Solution Manager.
