Come up with something unique and useful, and then submit it cpan. Although be patient, and resubmit once in awhile, sometimes you never hear anything back.
Alternatively, you could always put some perl code up on sourceforge.net to showoff your programming skills. I usually try to get source code from previous jobs I've worked to showcase when prospective employers ask to see some sample code.
