I'm looking for recommendations -- perhaps from others
who have been in my situation.

I've been working solo on a perl web site for the last
year. The user interface is extremely complex and
makes extensive use of javascript. As I am getting
additional clients, it is getting difficult to keep
this perl client happy.

I've rejected the idea of hiring a traditional
employee or subcontractor -- they buy-in time would be
much too steep.

Has anyone working solo had any luck hiring a pair
programming partner? While it would be nice to have
someone come into my office and work with me, I
suppose we could run Microsoft Net Meeting (assuming
one is willing to run a Microsoft OS) and dawn head
sets. We could even do voice-over-IP and save the long
distance phone bill.

I was thinking about compensation by the hour across a
range of rates. The more s/he helps, the more I pay!
I guess we would start with 5-10 hours a week.

Has anyone had any success with this approach?
   Thanks,
         Siegfried
