I jump right to "Ctrl+F" to find what I'm looking for when I screen a candidate. It's mostly bs anyway, and when you're screening for a technical position, you never know what you're gonna get.

That's right! They ARE mostly BS! That's why writing one that specifically speaks to the position and the hiring manager is a HUGE leg up on the competition.

It can take 15 minutes to write a well-thought out cover letter, which will more than pay for itself.
