Head commit for run: 42e6ac19137b3578966ba41037f22464c86122a3 / Jarek Potiuk <[email protected]> Stop agent triage acting on PRs a maintainer is already handling The magpie triage framework guards against talking over a human with four narrow pre-filters — a 72-hour comment cooldown, maintainer-to- maintainer ping detection, an unanswered author question, and maintainer-co-drafted drafts — and its stale sweeps honour none of them. On Airflow's PR traffic those slices leak: a committer comments, the cooldown expires, and the next sweep flags CI failures the committer already knows about, re-opening a thread they had parked. Once any committer has engaged, the PR's queue position and next move belong to that person, so losing a few genuinely triage-eligible PRs to an over-broad filter is far cheaper than contradicting a maintainer. The nudge actions have the same problem from the other side. A ping about an unanswered question restates what GitHub's own notifications already delivered, to someone who is not blocked on being reminded — the cost lands on real inboxes while the decision to engage is unmoved. Both are policy calibration for this project rather than framework defects, so they belong in the adopter override file rather than upstream; the file records the config knobs that would replace them.
