Job Function
Lotame is developing the next generation of internet marketing technology
specifically geared towards social networking websites such as MySpace and
Facebook and is looking for a candidate who can server in a dual role as a
Network Engineer/System Administrator. The candidate will help manage our
local and production systems. Candidates for this position will be
knowledgeable in all things Linux with familiarity working with Apache and
MySQL and other assorted Open Source Software packages. In addition, they
must be comfortable in all of the technological/network underpinnings that
make a high traffic volume Internet facing site tick, such as load
balancing, firewalls, and DNS.
The Day to Day
· Administer a co-located network environment supporting web
services provided by the company
· Candidate must be able/willing to cross over between NE (network)
and SA (system admin) work
· Optimize server and application configurations to achieve the best
practical performance of the system
· Respond to and resolve system/network outages and performance
degradation issues
· Make recommendations on improvements that can be made throughout
the system
· Implement processes and controls to maintain integrity of the
system
· Implement technology to facilitate near real-time monitoring of
the systems performance characteristics
· Perform updates to the configuration of the various servers and
applications that comprise the system
· Assist in the deployment of new versions of the applications that
reside on the system
· On call rotation pager required full time
Skills
· Linux, RHEL, CentOS
· Apache, JBoss, MySQL
· Experience with F5 Load Balancers, Cisco/Force10 switching,
Juniper firewalls
· BGP, OSFP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP
· Experience working with Open Source Software
· Experience with Ganglia, Cacti, OpenNMS, Nagios monitoring
packages
· Ability to rapidly learn new technologies
· Someone who is familiar with open source software
· Someone who has worked with (40-100 servers)
· Linux and Redhat experience
· 5-6+ yrs experience
· Will be working on several projects
· Do not want a job hopper unless there is a really good reason for
it (i.e. family, education, etc.)
· Recent college graduates will be considered.
