The client is a privately held Internet company with a strong
international business model.
They are seeking a junior developer to join their team of four
developers in the ongoing development and expansion of the software that
drives their profitable business. Our websites receive millions of page
views per day, are highly scalable and built using advanced open source
technologies.
This person should have about 2-3 years experience working on web based
applications with a focus on front end development. Must be able to
work full-time on-site in the Union Square district of Manhattan.
The role requires:
2-4 years application development experience, preferably working with
open source technologies (they are a LAMP shop)
Strong database development experience including the ability to write
highly complex sql, and experience with either MySQL or PostgreS
Strong experience with a mix of front end technologies that include
Ajax, Javascript, JQuery, CSS, XML, DHTML and HTML
Experience working with caching technologies.
Strong skills in Object Oriented design and development.
Experience working on projects that involved full cycle development and
the solving of scalability as one of the application development problems.
PHP 5.
Excellent communications skills.
Salary DOE between 50-65K + bonus.
