*WEB FRONT-END DEVELOPER | New York University* Washington Square Campus The Digital Communications department of NYU is seeking a Web Front-end Developer to among an internal team of professionals and occasional third-party vendors to implement and maintain NYU.edu and NYU's related online ventures. Responsibilities include the development of standards-compliant, cross-browser code, fixing and resolving bugs/defects in support of the functional design and success of highly visible, enterprise, front-end Web properties.
*Qualifications/Required Education:* Bachelor's degree *Required Experience:* 3-5+ years of hands-on experience developing dynamic Web application interfaces, planning, developing, and modifying code to implement provided designs, and proven experience working both independently and collaboratively on a small team, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. *Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.): - Excellent planning, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills; in particular the ability to communicate technical details in a non-technical fashion - Highly skilled with writing, clean, documented, and standards-compliant (X)HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, and other related programming languages - Strong understanding of Web accessibility and search engine optimized markup - Familiar with Jquery-type code libraries - Experience working with standard development tools used for code versioning, bug tracking, documentation, etc. - Ability to monitor and analyze Web site problems and suggest possible solutions and priority levels - Strong knowledge of a variety of current and emerging technologies - Ability to prioritize, balance, and deliver quality work effectively - Experience maintaining a professional work ethic and attitude, while supporting and encouraging an enjoyable work environment *Outstanding Benefits:* As an employer, New York University is proud of the opportunities and advantages it offers, and has a long-standing commitment to providing high-quality employee benefits and programs that meet the needs of our diverse community.
