Hi Stephen,
I get the problem...build with jdk = 1.3 works well, but give some fixing
messages like:
[java] Fixing duplicate name key - LHST
[java] - 2008-04-05T15:00:00.000Z - 2008-10-04T15:30:00.000Z
[java] Fixing duplicate recurrent name key - LHST
with jdk 1.4 or superior give that overflow exception.
Can't I compile with jdk 1.5 or 1.6 ?

I have just retested this on my box, using the joda-time-1.5.1-src.zip
and all is fine. Have you got any unusal time zone rule files?
